She shows a task that is finished (from the week before) and then I have to check it again. Real supervision is difficult. Even the oldest has the tricks to get under control.

Against too much control

He is in high school and has a homework sheet, but then simply strings through what has not yet been made. In addition, they have a safe at school and the books are just at school when I want to see them. In other words, good control is also almost no action and they also have to do it themselves. So I am against too much control. If they show that they can handle their liberties, they get it. If they show that they can not handle it. Then the belt goes tighter again, so they have it in their own hands. They complain, but they have nothing to complain about, because I point them right to their own responsibility. I do not just check and a trick only works in the short term, mothers are not so stupid that they do not get it. Our cat and mouse game then begins.

Taking the phone

There are irrevocable measures if things are not going well and fortunately that works. For example, the phone is taken. Return it at home and only bring it back when you go to school or out or need it for a good reason, but otherwise it stays with me. If there are problems, we solve them and if they are insufficient, then I get extra involved in that subject and we look together at what goes wrong.
